Free Image Converter

Convert WebP, PNG, JPG, AVIF and more, right here. Your files are converted on your own device and never leave your browser.

Your files stay on your device. This tool converts images right in your browser using your computer, not a server. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or seen by anyone. Built by Mau Consulting.

What you can convert

This is a simple, free way to change one image format into another. Some of the conversions people use it for most:

  • Convert HEIC to JPG
  • Convert HEIC to PNG
  • Convert WebP to JPG
  • Convert WebP to PNG
  • Convert PNG to JPG
  • Convert JPG to PNG
  • Convert JPG to WebP
  • Convert AVIF to JPG

HEIC (from iPhones), WebP, and AVIF are newer formats that save space but do not open everywhere. Converting them to JPG or PNG gives you a file that works in any program, email, or website.

Why I built this

I convert images all the time, and I never loved uploading my files to some random website just to turn a WebP into a JPG. You can rarely tell who is storing your images or what they do with them afterward. So I built one that does not upload anything at all. It runs on your own device, and your files stay yours. That is the same way I think about the websites I build for local businesses: useful, honest, and respectful of the people using them.

Common questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to a server, never stored, and never seen by anyone. You can even turn off your internet after the page loads and it still works. (Like most websites, this page uses basic analytics to count visits, but that never involves your images or files.)
What formats can I convert?
You can convert from WebP, PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, and AVIF into JPG, PNG, or WebP. That covers the most common everyday needs, like turning a WebP you downloaded into a JPG you can use anywhere.
Can I convert HEIC (iPhone) photos?
Yes. HEIC is the format iPhones use, and most websites and programs cannot open it. This tool converts HEIC to JPG or PNG right on your device. The first time you convert a HEIC file, a small decoder loads in the background, so that first one may take a second or two longer. After that it is quick, and like everything else here, nothing is uploaded.
My transparent image got a white background. How do I keep it transparent?
That happens because JPG cannot store transparency, so any see-through areas have to be filled with a solid color. To keep the transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead, since both support it. If you do need a JPG, you can now choose the background fill color instead of being stuck with white.
Is there a file size or number limit?
No hard limit. Because everything runs on your device, very large images or big batches just depend on your computer. For everyday images it is instant.
